		<description>You have focused, it seems, on the US education system, and while that is certainly guilty of everything you say it is, there have been far worse examples in recent history and far worse examples as we speak. The Nazis knew the harvest of enthusiasm that education could sow, as did Stalin and Mao. Today we see North Korea virtually brainwashing kids into believing that every single American is the devil and in Northern Pakistan the Taliban manipulates children to see virtue in acts of violent terrorism. Education of children *should* be a sacred obligation, but unfortunately it is often used as an evil tool to further the power of bone selfish and stark raving mad leaders.
